We know that shopping for your dream wedding dress can be very pricey and we also know that not every bride has a huge budget for their dress. However, that does not mean you cannot get the dress you love! We know that for many, the price of a gown is one of the most important factors to consider. We have put together a few handy tips for all you lovely brides out there, to make sure you get the dress you really want, at a price you can afford!

  • Set a realistic budget! When you sit down and work out your wedding budget, look at how much of that you want to use on your gown. When you have an idea of how much that is think, does that include your veil, headpiece, alterations etc. or do you have an extra allowance for all of that on top?
  • Get an idea of what dresses cost. What I mean is, if you have a low budget but think you want a lot of lace and beading on your gown, that probably isn’t going to fit with the cost. The more structured, beaded and lacy a dress is, the more expensive.
  • When booking appointments, ask the shop what the price range is for their gowns. This way you know what to expect before you get there. Take a look on their website and see if it tells you and if not, give them a call and ask. If you know that it is way out of your budget, you’re probably better off not booking the appointment, as you don’t want to set yourself up for heartache!
  • When you get to your appointment, tell them your budget and stress that you cannot go over it. If you feel you need to, ask them the price of each dress before they let you try it on so you know what to expect. Here at the Essex Bridal Outlet, if a bride tags a dress over her budget we will always tell her the price before trying it on her and let her decide if it is still an option. We would hate to put someone in a dress that is way out of their reach, they fall in love with it and then end up disappointed because it is unrealistic- it’s totally unfair!

It’s important to enjoy your wedding dress shopping experience without worrying all the time about budget. So, chat to your Bridal Consultant and tell them about your budget and let them worry for you. There is no reason why you should have to constantly worry about the cost, as your consultant shouldn’t put you in something that is unrealistic. So, relax, have fun and enjoy- it is a wonderful experience and you’ll have the time of your life!

We hope to see you soon- we will have the Prosecco ready and on ice to give you an experience you will never forget!
